Home Sweet Home

well, this time it's only 3am. yet i'm laying in the same spot in bed, listening to JEFFLUKE radio again, hyped on energy drink and excitement...again. these guys kill me. everyone should listen to their radio podcasts. check the sidebar for their link.

so the car runs! It's in need of a proper tune, but it drove here without any major issues. i think something's wrong with the power steering (PS cooling lines leaking?). that's hardly an issue considering some of the problems i could have conceived.

4.5 psi and feels quick already. Boom.

see you all at the bash. or not. but hopefully yes.

HAHA

Ok so I just heard there's actually car clubs in KW where you have to pay to hang out with dudes and talk cars.

Fuck. That. (Kenny Powers Voice)

That is all...

i wish i was joking

it's almost 4am. just got home from the shop, and i'm writing a blog while listening to Jeff Hart and Luke Takahashi talk and rant about i don't even know what, but its making me laugh hysterically. likely because i'm:

running on monster energy drink and hype for the weekend.

quick update: the car ran tonight. took FOREVER to figure out that the fuel pump wasn't working right. now the car actually idle's on the base tune.

i'm really rushing to make it work for Maple Leaf Bash, therefore it kinda looks like a hackjob. i swear its not, but the wiring will need to be tidied once it all runs right. and all the roughness will turn to pristine organization (riiiiight).

here's the type of thing that goes down when you're in as much as a hurry as i am for this weekends event:
in case the iphone photo quality doesn't meet your viewing standards...the gauges are indeed held in by ziptied cardboard. i wish i was joking, but at this point it's purely necessary.

check my vid on facebook of it running no downpipe. if you don't have me on facebook, come at me!

tomorrow, exhaust and street tune...i hope.

kbye.

oh hai, remember me?

i haven't blogged in a while because my life has mostly been

work.shop.sleep

...oh, and eat the occasional meal (had an excellent one today at the burger joint near Joe's shop)

on a side note, somewhere amongst the busyness, i managed to get OSX Lion for my MBP. if anyone owns a mac, it's worth the $30 Apple wants for the download.

see! i DO still own a car. it should actually drive tomorrow if all goes well. and if that happens, expect a late night blog and some snaps.

g'night.

Spectrum shenanigans

Went to the Spectrum Electronic Carnival this past weekend.
Pretty much, its camping, but with 44+ djs, 2 stages, pool, beer pong, flipcup, glowsticks and a lot more.

Here's a few clips I put together of Justin's set, and some other random fun.

The FC Saga - Will it make CSCS at Mosport?

Moved the fc to Mr. Joe's shop. He works good, and is one of the few people I know who don't hate these cars.

I distracted him from what he needed to be doing long enough to hook up half the front mount.

Also, anyone who's ever owned an e46 prolly knows what this little hedgehog-looking fellow is:

That stupid resistor is what made my cabin fans possessed, and spin as fast as they wanted whenever they wanted (even when the car was off). This was killing my battery everynight.

Hard to believe such a silly part could cost $180 from dealer... thank god for eBay.

Old school

My old man is getting his build moving with some body work and paint. Then the fully built Ford 5.0L goes in, suspension gets seriously upgraded and we'll be rolling.

Perfect cruiser. Slammed, sunroof, AC, 4 link coilovers, and loads of power.

Much british sports car love in our family.

Slow but, steady

Slowly getting things back together. I keep finding things to do / distract me so it's not moving to quickly.

Alas, I did get a few things done this weekend.

I got the transmission mounted. The proper way. The raised transmission crossmember was supposed to be inside the frame rails. I always had it below. Oh well.
2 New holes and we're in business. The T5 required the crossmember to move ahead maybe 2"?

Yes, it looks slanty. Just how the transmission is. Engine is sitting level, as is the shifter plate.

Got the intercooler back in.

Shot of the fresh paint. Thanks to Hammer for the paint. Shit painted over everything and smoothed itself out. Kinda sweeeeet.

My medium sized foam filled fuel cell. Wish it had a sending unit lol...

Vortech T-Rex. Good for 300lph @ 85psi IIRC. Basically, more then I'll ever need.

My freshly resurfaced header. Thanks to Pat. No more exhaust leaks I hope between turbo and header. Also got the ECU and wiring laying on top. Found some melted wires I fixed up.

MUCH MORE to happen this week, I HOPE lol...
