Out with salt, in with wheels!

Well, the roads are finally clear and I've seen street sweepers out. This gave me the overwhelming urge to ditch my soft, bouncy winter tires for something a little firmer and more performance oriented. I also want the beamer to be a little more "baller" category this season. I was running this little setup, but until I can get camber set up properly and some adapters of the right size, it rubs a little too much:

So I've decided this season I'll likely be running these little bad boys:

The Felons crew stopped by, Mike, Brandon and Rob, with a special guest appearance from Derek.
Mike also tried out the Advans:

And finally, the Advans ended up on Brandon's S14 (little whores):

That's right. The felons work into the night! That's all I've got for now. We'll be working on the rx7 this weekend hopefully, so there should be some updates on that to follow.

Season Expectations

With the automotive season upon us, expectations are peaking!

I know personally I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of the woodwork locally and all across Southern Ontario.

As well, I have my own suprises for this year. If, all goes well, of course..

MMMM I HAVE to at LEAST top last years fun :)

Broken like a BAWS

So before you continue reading let me warn you; nothing hella-sick is going on here, just a rusty car, rear brake job (again) and me typing some mildly funny things.
I cannot express how much I hate it when people drive around with the warning strip on their brake pads scraping the shit out of the rotors. The sound is on par with, or worse than nails on a chalk-board. I had that and drove around like that for a few days, haters were going buck wild.

I brought all the big bosses in to get the job done.
Sobey's sourdough bread and white lithium grease? Fu**n' smart.

My car is literally falling apart, all non-essential pieces are going first, dropping off while I'm driving. Not many cars are as lucky as mine, active-weight-reduction-technology... you heard it here first. Weird part is the car is so insanely well balanced, fast and comfortable. I will be driving this car into the ground... then I'll start over again.

That's a quality patch right there..

So dirty. But I still love you.

Oh btw I'm bringing back "murdered out", next level wheel-colour maneuver.

German Steel.

... and with Spring, comes new surprises for summer and the joy of being able to run your summer wheels! How nice is that?

So I've been working on a little project for my Jetta, its been something I've been wanting to do for a couple of years now, and it seems that things just sort of work out for the best when it has come to building this car. All good in the hood.

What I started out with was a set of OEM VW New Beetle steelies, and they only come in an arrangement of 16x6. How dull is that? Very. This is how the looked before the magic started.



I painted them purple to use as winter steelies. Long story short, they didn't work as planned. I have an evil genius of a friend that has some special magic up his sleeve and at my specific requests, made them wider. They now measure 16x8 for the fronts, and 16x9 for the rears. I call that dope. You should too.

These are the rears, btw.

I'm no expert on the subject of welding and all that goodness, although I should learn. The type of welding that was used was Spray Arc, as far as I know it's a widely used method within the automotive and industrial sectors. I won't pretend to know everything about it, but I'll let you ogle the awesome welds that were done and make your own judgment.

Just looking at them makes me want to curl up inside and take a nap. Doesn't it just look madd comfortable?! lol

I'll have some more specs once they are in my possession and before they get refinished. :)
