Ziptie Stitching
Well... it wouldn't be popular if there wasn't a reason for it.
I was always wondering how well it worked so tonight I had the perfect opportunity to test it out.
I had a spare electric fan laying around which fit nicely in Zach's Blazer but, it had a cracked housing. ON WITH THE ZIPTIES!
Upon completion, it was impressive how well it was held together. It was tight and lined up well after only a few zipties but, we went for overkill for fun/looks.
All in all, makes perfect sense why drilled holes with zipties work so well and is used often in the motorsports world.
Refreshing "Breaks"
Brandon came over today to use the warmth of the garage to do his rear brakes. So after a fight with the RX7 to get it outside, we finally got his car in.
This reminded me what Big City Felons is all about. A discussion with Mike recently reminded me why we really do this. It's not just for the cars. It's for the friends. It's for the feeling we get when we all go out for a drift sesh, and chill in Timmies afterwards - swapping stories and hyping eachother up. It's about sharing our knowledge with another, and getting their knowledge in return. It's building connections, with our cars and our crew. We need more of that.
And there's always people out there with "better" cars (of course this is their opinion - and I believe a by-product of their larger budgets) parked in their garages, hating on what we do. They mock the ideas of "drift sessions", "winter beater meets", and sharing knowledge. But you know? I call that jealousy. And there's a quote about jealousy that goes like this.
"Jealousy is no more than feeling alone against smiling enemies."
Well we're smiling. What are you doing?

Winter boredom leads to...
...STRAIGHT PIPES!
Ok, so not always. But this time it did. I figured BMW owners love to have their tips polished, but not me.
I took a little vid of it idling and revving. Unfortunately since I'm currently so sick, I wasn't thinking straight. So please ignore the color, stupid camera placement, and fact that the engine is freezing cold. Maybe on a warm day, or after a drive, I'll get a proper video of it revving warm.

Upon careful consideration...
...I've decided I'm doing this.
Will post tomorrow with result.
